String
public setter for the host component v
. (with validation)
see also URI::Generic.check_host
require 'uri' uri = URI.parse("http://my.example.com") uri.host = "foo.com" # => "foo.com" uri #=> #<URI::HTTP:0x000000008e89e8 URL:http://foo.com>
extract the host part of the URI
and unwrap brackets for IPv6 addresses.
This method is same as URI::Generic#host
except brackets for IPv6 (and future IP) addresses are removed.
u = URI(“http://[::1]/bar”) p u.hostname #=> “::1” p u.host #=> “[::1]”
set the host part of the URI
as the argument with brackets for IPv6 addresses.
This method is same as URI::Generic#host=
except the argument can be bare IPv6 address.
u = URI(“foo/bar”) p u.to_s #=> “foo/bar” u.hostname = “::1” p u.to_s #=> “[::1]/bar”
If the argument seems IPv6 address, it is wrapped by brackets.

A SimpleServer
only yields when you start it
Performs the standard operations for daemonizing a process. Runs a block, if given.
Adds listeners from address
and port
to the server. See WEBrick::Utils::create_listeners
for details.
Starts the server and runs the block
for each connection. This method does not return until the server is stopped from a signal handler or another thread using stop
or shutdown
.
If the block raises a subclass of StandardError
the exception is logged and ignored. If an IOError
or Errno::EBADF exception is raised the exception is ignored. If an Exception
subclass is raised the exception is logged and re-raised which stops the server.
To completely shut down a server call shutdown
from ensure:
server = WEBrick::GenericServer.new # or WEBrick::HTTPServer.new begin server.start ensure server.shutdown end
Stops the server from accepting new connections.
Override the inspection method.
system("false") p $?.inspect #=> "#<Process::Status: pid 12861 exit 1>"
Returns true
if this process is stopped. This is only returned if the corresponding wait
call had the WUNTRACED
flag set.
Returns the number of the signal that caused stat to stop (or nil
if self is not stopped).
Returns the least significant eight bits of the return code of stat. Only available if exited?

Obtains a lock, runs the block, and releases the lock when the block completes. See the example under Mutex
.
Wakes up all threads waiting for this lock.
Returns a printable version of ec
ec = Encoding::Converter.new("iso-8859-1", "utf-8") puts ec.inspect #=> #<Encoding::Converter: ISO-8859-1 to UTF-8>
