Inserts string into the encoding converter. The string will be converted to the destination encoding and output on later conversions.

If the destination encoding is stateful, string is converted according to the state and the state is updated.

This method should be used only when a conversion error occurs.

Returns a new closure wrapper for the name function.

• ctype is the return type of the function

• argtype is an Array of arguments, passed to the callback function

• call_type is the abi of the closure

• block is passed to the callback

Parameters

• pass - string

• salt - string - should be at least 8 bytes long.

• iter - integer - should be greater than 1000. 20000 is better.

• keylen - integer

• digest - a string or OpenSSL::Digest object.

Available in OpenSSL 0.9.4.

Digests other than SHA1 may not be supported by other cryptography libraries.
