Returns the namespace URL, if defined, or nil otherwise
e = Element.new("el") e.add_namespace("ns", "http://url") e.add_attribute("ns:a", "b") e.add_attribute("nsx:a", "c") e.attribute("ns:a").namespace # => "http://url" e.attribute("nsx:a").namespace # => nil
This method always returns “” for no namespace attribute. Because the default namespace doesn’t apply to attribute names.
From www.w3.org/TR/xml-names/#uniqAttrs
> the default namespace does not apply to attribute names
e = REXML::Element.new("el") e.add_namespace("", "http://example.com/") e.namespace # => "http://example.com/" e.add_attribute("a", "b") e.attribute("a").namespace # => ""
Evaluates to true
if whitespace is respected for this element. This is the case if:
Neither :respect_whitespace
nor :compress_whitespace
has any value
The context has :respect_whitespace
set to :all
or an array containing the name of this element, and :compress_whitespace
isn’t set to :all
or an array containing the name of this element.
The evaluation is tested against expanded_name
, and so is namespace sensitive.
Evaluates to the URI
for a prefix, or the empty string if no such namespace is declared for this element. Evaluates recursively for ancestors. Returns the default namespace, if there is one.
the prefix to search for. If not supplied, returns the default namespace if one exists
the namespace URI
as a String
, or nil if no such namespace exists. If the namespace is undefined, returns an empty string
doc = Document.new("<a xmlns='1' xmlns:y='2'><b/><c xmlns:z='3'/></a>") b = doc.elements['//b'] b.namespace # -> '1' b.namespace("y") # -> '2'
Evaluates to the unnormalized value of this entity; that is, replacing all entities – both %ent; and &ent; entities. This differs from +value()+ in that value
only replaces %ent; entities.
Returns the value of this entity unprocessed – raw. This is the normalized value; that is, with all %ent; and &ent; entities intact
A predicate filters a node-set with respect to an axis to produce a new node-set. For each node in the node-set to be filtered, the PredicateExpr is evaluated with that node as the context node, with the number of nodes in the node-set as the context size, and with the proximity position of the node in the node-set with respect to the axis as the context position; if PredicateExpr evaluates to true for that node, the node is included in the new node-set; otherwise, it is not included.
A PredicateExpr is evaluated by evaluating the Expr and converting the result to a boolean. If the result is a number, the result will be converted to true if the number is equal to the context position and will be converted to false otherwise; if the result is not a number, then the result will be converted as if by a call to the boolean function. Thus a location path para is equivalent to para.
Escapes all possible entities
Unescapes all possible entities
Builds a nodeset of all of the preceding nodes of the supplied node, in reverse document order
includes every element in the document that precedes this node,
except for ancestors
Marks this TupleEntry
as canceled.
A TupleEntry
is dead when it is canceled or expired.
Returns the canceled status.
