Regexp#match?

Returns a true or false indicates whether the regexp is matched or not without updating $~ and other related variables. If the second parameter is present, it specifies the position in the string to begin the search.

/R.../.match?("Ruby")    #=> true
/R.../.match?("Ruby", 1) #=> false
/P.../.match?("Ruby")    #=> false
$&                       #=> nil

Set#each

Calls the given block once for each element in the set, passing the element as parameter. Returns an enumerator if no block is given.

Symbol#match

Returns sym.to_s.match.

Symbol#match?

Returns sym.to_s.match?.

Pathname#children

Returns the children of the directory (files and subdirectories, not recursive) as an array of Pathname objects.

By default, the returned pathnames will have enough information to access the files. If you set with_directory to false, then the returned pathnames will contain the filename only.

For example:

pn = Pathname("/usr/lib/ruby/1.8")
pn.children
    # -> [ Pathname:/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/English.rb,
           Pathname:/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/Env.rb,

Note that the results never contain the entries . and .. in the directory because they are not children.

Same as Pathname.chmod, but does not follow symbolic links.

SDBM#fetch

Returns the value in the database associated with the given key string.

If a block is provided, the block will be called when there is no value associated with the given key. The key will be passed in as an argument to the block.

If no block is provided and no value is associated with the given key, then an IndexError will be raised.

SDBM#each

Iterates over each key-value pair in the database.

If no block is given, returns an Enumerator.

Socket#sysaccept

Accepts an incoming connection returning an array containing the (integer) file descriptor for the incoming connection, client_socket_fd, and an Addrinfo, client_addrinfo.

Accepts a new connection. It returns the new file descriptor which is an integer.
